2016 GODAN Summit to End World Hunger Held on the Margins of the UN General Assembly

September 15-16, 2016: The Governments of the United States, United Kingdom, and the Republic of Kenya, ONE Campaign and PUSH (Presidents United to Solve Hunger) hosted the 2016 GODAN Summit in New York, to address challenges of agriculture and nutrition. GODAN Partner, the Global Partnerships Forum was honored to be the Summit Coordinator.

Dean of Canterbury announces closer collaboration with the United Nations’ humanitarian agenda

The Very Reverend Dr. Robert Willis, Dean of Canterbury paid a courtesy call to His Excellency, Mr. Ban Ki–moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations in New York on 27 October 2015. The Dean of Canterbury also met with Mr. Amir Dossal, President and CEO of the Global Partnerships Forum, with aims to develop a strategy to help further the newly adopted Sustainable Development Goals. The GPF is honoured to be working with the Canterbury Cathedral to develop a global outreach strategy that will engage faith-based communities in concrete action to achieve the UN’s 2030 Agenda.

UN Women and the Global Partnerships Forum Celebrate SDG 5 in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

As the international community gathered for the historic adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development during the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly, UN Women and the Global Partnerships Forum hosted a VIP Reception for First Spouses of Heads of State/Government of Member States of the United Nations, on 27th September 2015 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. This high-level event took place at the Penthouse of 50 United Nations Plaza.

Health and the Sustainable Development Goals: Leaving no one with Disability Behind

The Permanent Missions of Ecuador, Spain, and The Philippines co-hosted the World Health Organization (WHO) event, in collaboration with the Global Partnerships Forum and the International Disability Alliance. The VIP Reception: Health and the Sustainable Development Goals: Leaving no one with disability behind took place in the Delegates Dining Room of the United Nations. The objective of the discussion was to raise awareness of Member States’ obligations to leave no one behind – including people with disabilities – in the post-2015 development agenda. WHO made the case that in Goal 3: Health and Well-being for All and All Ages people with disabilities are genuinely included.
